The Merapi Merbabu Magelang Coffee Geographical Indication is a protection for coffee in coffee producing areas in Magelang Regency, including Grabag, Ngablak, Sawangan, Pakis, Dukun, Windusari, Kaliangkrik and Kajoran subdistricts.

Merapi Merbabu Magelang Arabica Coffee, based on test results conducted by Puslitkoka Jember, shows distinctive and dominant flavors such as caramel, like honey, like spices, fruity, like herbs, like nuts, floral, flowery, sweet potato, natural, and lemony as well as a small portion of chocolaty and vanilla.

It really has a wide variety of flavors and will certainly pamper all coffee lovers. The final value of the taste test showed specialty grade results with a value of 84.00 to 88.50. Just as an illustration, if coffee lovers want to enjoy coffee with lemony, caramel, honeyed, floral and flowery flavors, please come to the Pakis District area.

The flavors of basmatic rice, caramel and vanilla can be found in the Sawangan District area. Another unique taste is shown by the coffee produced in the Wonolelo area, Sawangan District, namely the dried taste.
